Who leads the dance?

That is the question we have chosen to headline the next issue of People at Work, devoted to artificial intelligence: a revolution on a grand scale, an anthropological storm. Have we ever tackled a subject quite this dizzying?

Words fail us. And for journalists, long the keepers of a small share of knowledge and of the modest power to inform, that is no small admission. What is left to us when knowledge and the pen are no longer privileges, when machines produce texts, ideas and lines of reasoning?

Perhaps what matters most: doubt, discernment, the freedom not to follow.

Behind the technological innovation, an irreducibly human question stands its ground: do we still want to choose the direction, or let ourselves be swept along by the movement? The dance has only just begun.

Let us decide who sets the tempo.
